Ingredients:
- 500g boneless chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional, for extra spice)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
In a large bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic paste, ginger paste, paprika, cumin, black pepper, salt, and chili powder. Stir well to combine all the flavors.Marinate the Chicken:
Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).Prepare the Skewers:
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.Cook the Skewers:
- Grill Method: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and cook the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway. Broil for the last 2 minutes for a charred effect.
- Stovetop Method: Heat a little oil in a pan and cook the skewers on medium heat, turning them every few minutes until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
Serve:
Remove the skewers from the heat and let them rest for a minute. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with mint chutney, yogurt dip, or a side of salad.
