Moong Dal Cheela (Lentil Pancakes)

Moong Dal Cheela is a nutritious, protein-packed Indian pancake made with moong dal (split green gram). It’s light, easy to digest, and perfect for breakfast or a healthy snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup moong dal (soaked for 4-5 hours)
  • 1 green chili (chopped)
  • ½ inch ginger (grated)
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as needed)
  • 1 tsp oil (for cooking)

Instructions:

  1. Drain the soaked moong dal and grind it with green chili, ginger, and little water to form a smooth batter.
  2. Add turmeric, cumin seeds, coriander, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil.
  4. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it into a thin pancake.
  5. Cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.
  6. Serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt.
